Our loving Mom, Grandma and Gigi, Etta "Jane" Garman Atkinson entered into her eternal home on Sunday morning July 7, 2024 in Stroud, Ok. Jane was born on October 21, 1938 and was 85 years old. She was born in Afton, Ok and was the six of eight children to Earl and Margaret Garman. After her parents passed, the two oldest sisters took the rest of the family and raised them as their own. Ann Garman Brooks was Jane's second mom from the time she was 7 years old. Jane attended high school in Afton until her senior year. Ann and her husband, Claude moved to Vilonia, Arkansas. She received the honor of Salutatorian from Enola High School graduating class of 1956. After graduation, she moved to Tulsa and attended Tulsa Business School. She got a job at Fourth National Bank. Her brother Bob introduced her to David Atkinson and they were married January 19, 1957. They made their home in Tulsa. Their marriage ended November 29, 2020 with David's death. Jane was a homemaker, devoted mother and business owner of Atkinson Supply Co and Associated Parts and Supply. She continued to work until November 2022. Jane was a faithful servant at Memorial Park Christian Church for 40 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher to the adult special needs class and was blessed by showing God's love to those in the class. She cooked for every potluck dinner and the youth on Wednesday nights. She loved serving God and her church family.
Jane and David were blessed with three children: Deborah (Debbie) Atkinson Pearman and husband Bob, David (Buddy) Atkinson Jr and wife Michelle and Gary Atkinson and wife Regina. Seven grandchildren, Leslie (Pearman) Girard and husband Matt, Rusty Pearman and wife Jennifer, Mandy Atkinson, Shelby Atkinson, Amanda (Atkinson) Mann, and husband Kyle, Kyle Atkinson and Corey Atkinson. Seven great grandchildren, Macie and Ryan Girard, Russ Pearman, Abbigail Atkinson, Lincoln Mann, Zoey and Rylee Davis.
Jane was proceeded in death by her parents, Earl and Margaret (Moore) Garman, her siblings Marge (Garman) Tallon of Afton, Ann (Garman) Brooks of Oklahoma City, Earl Garman Jr of Tulsa, Robert Garman of Purcell, Jo Willa (Garman) Graham of Tulsa and many other grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton, Oklahoma. It will be a graveside celebration.
