Euella Lynette Hazel, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she resided since 2017. She was born on May 11th, 1935, in Dutch Guiana (Suriname) to David Nathaniel Greaves and Delphina Elicia Godett. She was lovingly raised by her foster mother, Ms. Rosalyn 'Ma' Farley, in New Amsterdam, Berbice, British Guiana (Guyana).

Euella (fondly known as Ms. Hazel, Lynso, or Granny) was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She went to school in New Amsterdam and spent her career as a psychiatric nurse at the New Amsterdam Mental Hospital. She married Rupert Allan Hazel in 1956, and together they raised 9 children. In her retirement, she moved to New York, and then to Tulsa.

A dedicated member of the Mother's Union at the All Saints Anglican Church in New Amsterdam, Berbice, as well as the Women's Revolutionary Socialist Movement, Euella was deeply involved in her faith and in her community. She contributed her time and efforts to various church activities and was known for her strong faith and commitment to helping others.

Euella is survived by 8 of her children, Cheryl, Denise, Andrey, Maxine, Cora, Carla, Clinton, and Charleen; her siblings, Winifred, Duloph, Patrick, Beryl, and John, fondly known as Fukie; her cousins, Joyce, Dennis, Beverly, Oral, and Sandra, in Canada; her cousins, the Vogels, the Oprechts, and the Halleys, in Corentyne, Berbice; her cousins, Pansy Hazel and the Lacon family; her uncle, Rupert, and the Evans family; her step-mother, Lucille Greaves, fondly known as Aunt Lucy; 16 of her grandchildren, Cynthia, Michelle, Delmar, Donyl, Ian, Petal, Ray, Leon, Eboni, Iman, Ettire, Rhea, Rusty, Matthew, Chayim, and Calista; and her 14 great-grandchildren, Michael, Gabrielle, Carys, Kamdyn, Ian Jr., Nigel, Ray Jr., Amelia, Abigail, Mason, Kaylie, Ettire Duron, Za'Vion, and Zori.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rupert; her son, Ian; her grandsons, Gavin and David; her siblings, Joyce Ramraj, Joyce Greaves, and Romano; her uncles, Leonard and Luis Evans; her cousin, Kenneth Evans; and her son-in-law, Keith Lovell.

A funeral service will be held at 10AM Monday, July 15th at Moore's Funeral Home Eastlawn Chapel, 1908 S Memorial Drive in Tulsa, OK. Visitation will be before the service at 9AM.

We are grateful for the loving care provided by her children, Cora, Carla, and Maxine, who were her caregivers, as well as her nurses, Melissa and Bonnie, her doctor, Dr. Stegman, and his nurse, Andrina, who took care of her in her final years.
