Eugene "Gene" Mearl Lower, 90, passed on Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a hemorrhagic stroke. He was born July 17, 1928 in Moran, Kansas to Horace and Helene Lower. Gene moved to Barnsdall, Oklahoma in 1953 and shortly afterward met his spouse of 62 years, Sue, and began his career in the Oil & Gas Industry.

Gene spent his career in the Oil & Gas Industry with Sun Oil Company where he was a lab technician in the anti-knock lab at their Tulsa, Oklahoma refinery. Many of Gene's lifelong friends were met during his time with Sun Oil Company. He retired in 1986 after 33 years.

Gene was a loving father, husband, and friend who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family and friends. His relationships with each were unique, caring and often resulted in him being considered a confidant and father figure even as an uncle, grandfather and friend. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling, yard work, watching movies and often just piddling around the house fixing things.

Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue and his parents. He is survived by daughter, Dayna McCurdy and husband Joe; sons, Stephen Lower and wife Nancy, Mike Garner and wife Donna; sister, Carol McKeon; five grandchildren, Jason and Stephani Lower, Connor and Taylor Henson, and Josh Gardner; four great grandchildren, Braylan and Grayson Lowe, Dawson and Emma Gardner.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 17 2018 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
