Eupha Jane Cowan, 85, of Broken Arrow peacefully left this world on Sunday, May 20, 2018 surrounded by family. Jane, as she was most commonly known, was born on November 10, 1932 in Clever, Missouri -- the daughter of Herbert and Lena Little. She and her husband, Bob, raised their family together until his sudden passing in September 1981.
Jane is survived by her three sons, Brad Cowan, wife Liz and their children, Brandon and Dalton; Greg Cowan, wife Kay and their children -- Kellan and Randi Kay, and Chris Cowan, wife Lisa and their children- Daryn, Kyle and Heather. Jane is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her family, Jane leaves behind a work legacy not commonly found in these times. She opened the original Allergy Clinic of Tulsa in July 1959 with the founding physician, Dr. Leon Horowitz. In the early days of the practice, she performed all functions within the clinic as the solo employee. As the years went on, Jane not only mentored her staff, she exemplified leadership, loyalty and dedication - with several of the past and current employees having 20-30 years on the job. She had a gentle demeanor and gave inspiration to all she met. In addition to being the Clinic manager, Jane was considered a second mother to most of the staff and lovingly termed "Grandma Jane" by many of their children. She managed the Clinic until her retirement in 2009. Her spirit of professionalism and unwavering commitment to patient care continue within the Clinic today.
Jane was an avid traveler and enjoyed shopping and exploring new places. Her favorite shopping trips took her to Branson and Osage Beach. She visited London, Holland, Paris (where she visited the Eiffel Tower), Switzerland, Austria and Germany. She took a Hawaiian cruise that visited five islands, as well as an Alaskan cruise. She also enjoyed hosting parties and thrived on being surrounded by family, friends and staff. She made a difference in a lot of lives and was loved and respected by many.
