Eva Martinez Ancira, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on Friday,
August 20, 2021after a valiant struggle with cancer. Eva was preceded in death by loving
husband Frank Castillo Ancira, alongside whom she built a legacy of lifelong, faithful Christian service and love.
Eva was born on October 6, 1941 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico to Marion Martinez and Nora Garcia Martinez, and is predeceased by her parents and siblings Gloria Perez., Cleo Gauna, and Henry Martinez. She is survived by brother Marty Martinez of Wichita, KS, niece Nora Rose and husband Linville, and nephew Eddie Gauna of Friona Texas. Eva is also survived by son Mark Ancira and wife Caroline of El Paso, TX, daughter Corine Triplett and husband Tom of Tulsa, OK, daughter Cynthia Waterman of Tulsa, OK, and son Michael Ancira and wife Kathy of Amarillo, TX. In addition to her children, Eva leaves seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and nurtured, bearing witness to her faithfulness in service to the Kingdom of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
After marriage, Eva and Frank Ancira settled in Farwell, Texas and Eva poured her love and devotion into raising her family and working side by side with her husband in bi-lingual Pastoral ministry as well as missionary work in Honduras, Guatemala, San Salvador and various states within the US. In addition, Eva served as an Administrative Assistant in the Farwell Public School System, and upon moving to Tulsa, she served in the Tulsa Public School Systems at Newcomer, Zarrow, and most recently Hale Junior High. While working at TPS, Eva was twice nominated for Tulsa Public Schools Support Staff of the Year. She believed in the dignity of work and the importance of justice so much so that she earned an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice and ran for Parmer County Judge.
Eva has been an active member at Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church in Jenks, OK, where she served as a Counselor in the Awanas youth program, and worked in support of the Upward Sports Basketball program.
Eva Ancira'sentire life has been a living testimony to her faith in God and the Power of the Holy Spirit in her life. Tirelessly working to bring the unsaved into a knowledge and acceptance of the Grace and Love of the Lord, Eva's energy and strength of character were outshined only by her accepting smile and loving acts of service toward all who were in her sphere.
