Obituary

Evelyn Clair Hollis Hall of Tulsa went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning January 25, 2015.

Evelyn was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, in her family home on January 4, 1930.

She is predeceased by: her devoted husband of 64 years Jack [Dempsey] Hall; her infant son Charles Wallace "Bubba" Hall;
her maternal grandmother who raised her, Mabel Clair Barber Elmore, whom she called "Mother"; her mother Evie Lee "Lovie" Barber Hollis, whom she called "Little Mother"; her father Charles Basel Hollis; her brother Walter Jesse Hollis and his beloved wife Hazel West Hollis; her paternal grandparents Jesse & Euphamie Hollis;

She is survived by: her son Gregory Hollis Hall and his wife Beth Goodall Hall of Edmond, OK; her daughter Jackie Lynn Hall of Tulsa, OK; her daughter Jerrie Ann Hall of Jenks, OK; grandsons Matthew Reid Hall and John David Hall; great-grandson Hayden Jack Hall; beloved nieces and nephews from the Hollis, Landreaux, Wright, and Hill families.

Evelyn Clair graduated from Bossier High School with the Class of 1947; was Miss Shreveport 1947 and also Miss Semper Fi.

She was graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, in the Class of 1951; she taught algebra and music at Rusheon Junior High School in Bossier City in the late fifties through the mid-sixties; she was a substitute teacher in the Tulsa Public Schools before earning her Associates Degree in Computer Science from Tulsa Junior College. She served as Realtor in the 1970s and 1980s for John Hausam.

She was a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Evelyn Clair's children would also like to thank the following people and organizations for their help over the last three years: the loving and caring staff of Transitions LifeCare hospice; the attentive and dedicated staff at Zarrow Manor of Tulsa Jewish Retirement Center; caregivers Erich and Rosie, and friend and neighbor Florence Atkins.

Viewing and visitation will be at Moore's Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa on Wednesday 1/28/15 from 2-7pm.

The funeral will be held at The First Baptist Church of Bossier City on Saturday 1/31/15 at 1pm, followed by burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport.
