Obituary
Evelyn Margaret Porter, 91, passed away February 27, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Evelyn was born in Tulsa on April 23, 1930, the daughter of John H. and Nellie (Carter) Wilkerson. The family lived in Red Fork and Evelyn graduated from Daniel Webster High School.
Evelyn met the love of her life, Thomas Buryl Porter, on a blind date. Tom later proposed marriage to Evelyn on Turkey Mountain on Christmas Day, 1948. They were wed the following February with the couple that introduced them serving as Best Man and Maid of Honor. Tom and Evelyn shared 71 years of blissful marriage.
Evelyn was a devoted, loving mother to her three children. After the children were grown, she worked in the school cafeteria at Memorial High School followed by 14 years working with the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas. She is survived by her three children; Terry, David, and Dianna, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 4, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
