Obituary

Everett Louis Hanna, affectionately known as Papa, passed away peacefully in his home at 87 years old on February 25, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Jerusalem, Arkansas, on August 28, 1937, to George and Grace Hanna, he was one of ten children. He often joked about his disappointment as a child that our Lord and Savior was not from his hometown. Louis moved to Tulsa, graduated from Central High School, and met the love of his life, Kay Francis McHenry. They married on June 18th, 1959 and together raised three daughters, Terri Kay, Leslie Gayle, and Kindel Lyn.

Louis had many hobbies, enjoyed traveling, playing the guitar and playing golf with his buddies. He was known as a hard worker and liked tinkering and fixing things in his spare time. Louis began his career at Fo-Mac Inc, working his way up the ranks and ultimately retiring as Vice President of Sales after over 40 years of service. A true "country boy," he loved the outdoors. Whether he was camping, hunting or fishing, he found joy in nature. He even competed in bass tournaments and traveled to Canada and Mexico for fishing trips. But his favorite was fishing for crappie and having a big family fish fry.

Louis and Kay were members of Brookside Church of Christ and then Garnett Church of Christ, before most recently attending services at Haikey Chapel. They worked to instill a foundation of faith for their children to ensure they knew the cross and Jesus Christ was the way to forgiveness and eternal life.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents George & Grace Hanna, Brothers: Euell, Carrell & James Hanna, Sisters: Olivia Hanna, Loretta Edwards, Georgie Lankford, Mildred Thompson & Joyce Vale, and his youngest daughter, Kindel Chevrestt. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Kay Hanna, two daughters and son-in-laws, Terri & Tony Reans and Leslie & Frank Fermo, Sister Faye Howard (Gary), six grandchildren Matt Reans (Shelley), Kyle Reans (Lia) & Mindy Hull (Joe) and Frankie Fermo, Kayli Fermo & Christian Fermo, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends all of whom he loved dearly.

He lived by the motto, "Leave it better than you found it," a testament to his character and impact on those around him.
