Obituary

Carpenter, Fay Elizabeth Smith, 75 of Tulsa, went to be with the Lord January 5, 2016, after a brief illness. Fay was born March 5, 1940 in Dawson Creek, Alberta, Canada to Josephine and Erwin Michaels. She was a loving mother, enjoyed working in the customer service industry, never met a stranger, and cherished all of her friendships. She enjoyed watching Hummingbirds, gardening, playing the slots(on occasion), corresponding with friends through written letters, volunteering at the Palatine Ill. Sr. Center, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. She had an adventurous spirit and was always up for a road trip. She is survived by her children Tammy Smith of Tulsa, OK, Tracy Smith and wife Lucy of Statesboro, GA, Julie Warner and husband Joe of St. Louis, MO, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, her sisters Joan Keown, Linda Wesloski Hayman and husband Phil, her brother Larry Michaels and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in Canada as well as her Ex-husband/good friends, Tom Smith and wife Doris of Claremore, OK. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Clarence Wesloski and Bill Keown, and niece Brenda Keown.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made in her name to Grace Hospice Foundation (gracehospicefoundation.org < http://www.gracehospicefoundation.org/ >) or the Clarehouse (clarehouse.org < http://www.clarehouse.org/ >) The family would like to thank them for the wonderful care they provided.
