FAYE C. FLETCHER 98, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 in Tulsa,
Oklahoma.
Faye was born in Broken Arrow, Ok to James W. Fletcher and Bessie
(Rutherford) Fletcher on March 15, 1917.
She had a twin sister who died at 18 months, a sister, Gladys Wagner who
died at 86, one brother, Gerald Fletcher who died at 93.
Faye graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1935. She was the
valedictorian of her class. She graduated from Tahlequah in 1939 at the head
of her class. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha. Faye taught school at
Broken Arrow High School for several years, and then worked at the War
Department in D.C. during World War II. When she returned home, she worked
for Texaco as a secretary until she retired.
Faye loved to play bridge, go to ballets, symphonies, all things cultural. A
well rounded person with many friends, most of them are gone as she lived a
long, full life. Faye lived at home until June 2014, when she and her sister,
Juanita moved to Burgundy Place, giving them many happy times together.
Faye is survived by her sister, Juanita, niece Kathryn Burdette
(and husband), and their daughters, Cheryl and Joanna.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a. m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Park Grove
Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Riggs
officiating.
