FRY, Fender William, 84, died at home on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Fender was named for his mother's maiden name. Fender was born November 25, 1933 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Raymond William Fry & Wanda (Fender) Fry.
Fender was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957 serving at Lackland AFB -- San Antonio, TX., Warren AFB Cheyenne, WY, Misawa AFB-Japan and Mcchord AFB Tacoma, WA. He married JoAnn (Banic) Fry in 1961.
For many years Fender worked as a credit manager for Cities Service Oil Company and Citgo Petroleum Company, starting his career in South Bend, IN in 1963 and then to Hinsdale, Illinois and Tulsa. He retired from Citgo Petroleum in May 1998. Fender enjoyed much of his retirement at their Grand Lake home. He enjoyed fishing, boating and relaxing. Fender and JoAnn vacationed in Hawaii in 1986 & 2000 and on several occasions to Florida, Indiana and Arkansas.
Fender is survived by his wife, JoAnn Fry, their two sons Greg & his wife Lori (Sparks) Fry and Doug Fry, both sons live in the Tulsa area. A sister Rayma Lea (Fry) Morgan & husband Dennis Morgan of South Bend, IN and sister Georgia Carolyn (Fry) Miller and husband Frank Miller of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wayne Fry and parents Raymond and Wanda Fry.
