Floyd Charles Schulte was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. He was born in Seminole, OK to Clarence C. and Artie Phillips Schulte on January 27, 1929.
Floyd spent his childhood and youth in the Tulsa, Kiefer and Sapulpa areas. He attended school in all of these towns and made lifelong friends. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1947. Upon graduation, he attended Tulsa Barber College, then Oklahoma A&M (now OSU). He then started his career with Oklahoma Natural Gas. His employment there was interrupted by service to his country. Floyd served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1953 and returned home to Tulsa and his career with ONG, retiring in 1986 as Manager of Measurement Services in Shawnee, OK.
Prior to leaving for Korea, Floyd married the love of his life, Viola Shackelford, in July 1951. They had many wonderful years together traveling and enjoying their children and grandchildren. Vi passed away in 1999. Floyd is survived by his son, Floyd G Schulte and his wife Mary; grandson Mark Schulte; his daughter, Barbara L. Boss and her husband Russell; granddaughters Jennifer Cravens and her husband Mark, Natalie Meek and husband Tyler; his brother, C. Afton Schulte of Trinity, TX; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday August 31, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st. Tulsa, OK 74145.
Service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Moore Southlawn Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd. Tulsa, OK 74133. Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Clarehouse and Hospice of Green Country for the care they took with Dad. The service they provided to Dad and the family was invaluable.
