Frances "Fran" Louise Ecton passed from this life on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Frances was born on June 19, 1942, at home in Oswego, Kansas, to Macks and Helen Carrier. Shortly after, her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. When Fran was nine years old, her sister, Debbie, joined the family. Macks served actively in the United States Army, and the family spent a short time in Manitou Springs, Colorado, before returning to Oklahoma. Fran graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, where she lived for the majority of her life.

Family was incredibly important to Fran. She met her husband and the love of her life, David Ecton, when they were just five years old. Together, they built a life centered around family and raised four children: Steve, Tracey, John, and their granddaughter,

Nicole. As a homemaker, Fran devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She loved attending her children's activities, whether it was a wrestling match, baseball game, or dance competition. That same devotion continued with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mammie. Every event, holiday, or simple, unexpected visit with her grandchildren brought her immense joy.

Fran and Dave spent several years living in South Carolina so they could be closer to their grandsons, Lane and Kyle. It brought them great joy and gave Fran the opportunity to be an active part of their lives during those years.

Fran was a warm, gentle, and strong soul. She was also incredibly funny, often making those around her laugh with her quiet comments, quick wit, or playful silliness. She was a wonderful friend and a second mom to many of her children's friends. She always made time for others-to offer a warm hug or smile, listen when someone had a problem, or help in any way she could.

Fran loved puzzles, reading, sweet tea and black coffee. She was an excellent cook and made a cake almost weekly. An animal lover at heart, she deeply loved her pets and treated them as part of the family. She was even known to surprise Dave with a new furry friend from time to time.

Fran was the heart of her family. Her loved ones are deeply grateful for the countless memories, laughter, love, and lessons she leaves behind. She will be missed beyond measure, but her family finds comfort in knowing that she is once again with those she loved and lost before her.

Fran was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Ecton; her son, Steve Ecton; her grandson, Aaron Welch; and her parents, Helen and Macks Carrier.

Her life will be remembered and cherished by her surviving family: her daughter, Tracey Welch of Tulsa; her son, John Ecton (Angela) of Chapin, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Nicole Kuck (Michael) of Jenks, Krysten Taylor (Jimmy Hall) of Bartlesville, Taylor Ecton (Amber) of Yukon, Lane Ecton of Columbia, South Carolina, and Kyle Ecton of Columbia, South Carolina; her sister, Debbie Jones (Larry) of Adair; and her seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kylee, Adlee, Charlee, Norah, Lydia, and Easton.

Fran leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, devotion, and family. She will forever be loved, deeply missed, and remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

Memorial Service will be 2PM, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
