Frances Ruth McBride was born on September 26, 1921 in Dill City, Oklahoma to
Sam Houston and Chloa (Scott) Yarborough. She graduated from Tulsa Central
High School in 1939. After graduation, she went to work for Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company, where she worked for 30 years, with her last position being
Business Systems Instructor, training large companies on new phone systems.
In 1943, she married the love of her life, Cecil (Mac) McBride. They were married for 62 years, Frances was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and also attended church at University Village, where she lived for the past 15 years. Frances was a very active lady all through her years. She and husband, Cecil, created some beautiful yards with gorgeous flowers. They enjoyed meeting the same friends for dinner each evening, always at Furr's. Frances was talented in many ways. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter. Frances was known for acts of kindness at her residence at University Village. Being the "Candy Lady" was just one of her acts. Frances departed this life for her new home in heaven on February 24, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her parents, Sam and Chloa Yarborough; 2 brothers, Joe Yarborough, and Roy Yarborough; 1 sister, Lola Allen. She is survived by her 2 nieces, JoAnn Newland (husband, J.D.); and Jan Brown, extended family and many special friends.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Park Cemetery 5111 S. Memorial Drive Tulsa, OK
