Obituary
Francis Burke, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 86, of Tulsa, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022. Francis was born December 12, 1935 in West Carthage, New York.
He served over three years in the U.S. Air Force, and then proceeded to earn a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Northrop Institute of Technology in Inglewood, CA. From there he had a 31 year career at Boeing where he worked on designs for both the Apollo and Space Shuttle projects.
Francis retired in 1992 and graciously donated over 10 years of this time as a docent at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. He enjoyed numerous hobbies including gardening, photography, antique shopping, baseball, traveling, and was a part-time nut enthusiast.
Francis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susan Burke; son, Thomas Burke (Dorothy); daughter, Anastasia Neese (Paul); two granddaughters, Cornelia Handy (Wesley) and Teresa Grace (Josiah); and one great-grandson, Sebastian Grace.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on March 29, 2022 at 10am. Graveside service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family gathering following graveside service at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa.
