Obituary

Francis "Frank" Howard Reed, III, age 64, returned to his Heavenly Home on June 06, 2023. He left the loving arms of his wife Jean Ann, daughter Megan and was welcomed by his parents.

Frank was born June 10, 1958, to Frank H. Reed, Jr and Norma Jean Anthony Reed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As the oldest of three children, he loved spending time together with his family and playing jokes on his siblings. Frank had a deep appreciation of nature and cherished his time in the out-of-doors with friends and family.

Frank graduated from Catoosa High School in 1976, where he was the quarterback that helped take the team to State. Football was his passion and loved leading the Indians to a record year. Frank went on to play football for the Oklahoma State University Cowboys, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a minor in economics and chemistry.

Frank grew up raising Herford cattle with his dad and working for the area farmers either hauling hay or planting beans in the fields surrounding their farm. Frank paid his way through college by having his own lawn service. His first job out of college was working for Gate City Steel as a shop manager, from there he went into selling steel for Delta Steel, where he was a top ranked salesman for the Tulsa division. His knowledge of the business and his success in building relationships was why he chose to leave corporate America and go into business for himself, where he was the owner/operator of Reed's Landscape & Lawn Service for 31 years.

August 01, 1992, Frank married Jean Ann Upky at A Glorius Church in Collinsville, Oklahoma. In 1993, God blessed them with Megan Lorraine, their adored daughter. Frank loved hunting, fishing and all things sports. He was thankful when his daughter, who wasn't going to be a football player, fell in love with sports of all kinds. He taught her all that he could about tennis, golf, basketball, softball and soccer where she excelled in every sport she played. He never thought of himself as a coach, nor did he want to be, but he found his calling when Megan's little league T-ball team needed a head coach. He thrived in mentoring and leading youth in his coaching skills. He could take the least talented and make them a super star, that's what he loved the most. While his heart was coaching his daughter, every young lady that was on the team benefited from that love.

Frank's second love was his cattle and his small farm life. He loved traveling with his family, laughing, gardening, watching Cowboys football, watching sunrises, sunsets and starry night skies. Although this part of their journey requires separation, they know eternity holds great promise they'll be together again.

Frank is preceded in death by his father, Frank H. Reed, Jr., his mother, Norma Jean Anthony Reed, and his brother, Mark David Reed. He is survived by his wife Jean Ann, his daughter Megan (Ryan Raesner), his sister Julie Estes (Jay Estes), his nieces Erica Hollingsworth (David Hollingsworth), Heather Bittner and great nephews Colton, Lincoln, and Ryzen.
