Franklyn Earl Smith went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the age of 100. He was born in Picher, Oklahoma on September 9, 1922 to Frank and Nellie Smith. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and also graduated from the American Institute of Banking.

Earl met Nancy J. O'Donnell in 1955 and they were married in 1958. Earl adopted her two sons, James Edward O'Donnell and John Patrick O'Donnell, all three who are now deceased. After serving 3 1/2 years in the United States Air Force, he resumed employment at the National Bank of Tulsa, now Bank of Oklahoma. Until he retired as Assistant Vice President in 1984, after 44 years in Operations. During this time, he served one year as President of Regional American Institute of Banking, one year as Educational Chairman of Oklahoma Bankers Association in developing Oklahoma School of Banking at Norman, Oklahoma.

Earl was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church for over 75 years, he and Nancy were married there by Rev. Paul Galloway. He and Nancy enjoyed many tours, cruises, dancing, and hobbies.

Earl is survived by daughter, Patricia Gibbons and husband Michael Gibbons of Simi Valley, California, grandsons Jason and Justin Smith, granddaughter Christy Flores and husband Dennis Flores, three great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 3PM, Monday, July 3, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
