Freddie "Fred" Lee Stephens, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 16th 2019 surrounded by loved ones and listening to music he loved, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 27th, 1939. He later lived in Alaska but returned to Oklahoma to finish school and lived in Tulsa for the final years of his life.
His parents Melvin Pierce Stephens, Ruby Lee Crockett and his beloved step-mother Ada Stephens, as well his infant son Freddie Lee Stephens, brother Melvin Pierce Stephens Jr., and grandson James Dorrell, proceeded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Pat Hamilton-Stephens, daughters Julie Dorrell and Elisabeth Pasco-Burke and son-in-law Patrick Burke, step-daughters Debbie Manley and son-in-law Larry Manley, Leisa Hamilton, Gayle Crabtree and son-in-law Royal Crabtree, granddaughters Lacey Lane, Lauren Elisabeth Pasco, step-grandchildren Cody Manley, Michael Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree, Marcus Crabtree, four great grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews, as well as beloved friends.
He retired from Ford Glass Plant after 27 years. He enjoyed his family, his dogs, sailing, OU football, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on curvy roads. His sense of humor, his hugs, and his mischievous smiles will be missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held at Fitzgerald's Southwood Colonial Chapel (3612 East 91st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma) at 2:00 P.M. on Friday January 3rd, 2020.
