G. Yvonne Sorrells, beloved volunteer and compassionate leader, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 86 years old.

A lifelong volunteer who loved doing the right thing for others, Yvonne was born in Bridgeport, OK in 1934 to parents Lloyd A. Bruce and Madge Alma Belyeu. From a young age she always saw the need to "help" others. This was the foundation of her life.
Yvonne was a formidable force in both business and life. She achieved the goal of advertising executive and was the first woman communications director when it was more than uncommon. She moved many times during her earlier days following her husband to new job locations but always found a place to use and hone her skills. In essence she thrived where she was planted.

After returning to Tulsa she and her husband Kerry established their own business and flourished both in business and their volunteer life. Yvonne was a past president of Salvation Army Aux. and held two consecutive terms as president of St. Johns Auxiliary. She was involved with Tulsa Philharmonic and other civic organizations early in her volunteer life.

In addition to her husband of 50 yrs., Kerry Claiborne Sorrells, she is mourned by her 3 daughters, Linda Neck Smith ( Ralph), Deborah Neck Krumme, (Robert), Vicky Neck Casey (Tom) and Phillip Neal Sorrells. Seven grandchildren: Jennifer Brunson Decicco, Stuart Brunson, Ralph(Sam) Smith, Robin Smith-Chapman, Katy Casey Kelsay, Carly Casey Javier and Kyle Casey and respective spouses. Seven great-grandchildren: Nicole, Taylor, Hunter, and Brandon, Caleb, Austin, and Penny. Also included are three great-great-grandchildren: Hayden, Lincoln, and Ashlynn. She is also survived by her loving sister, Gayla Bruce Schuman.

Yvonne died peacefully at home in Tulsa.

There will be no funeral or memorial due to Covid-19 restrictions.
