Galyn Ann "Gay" Faith
With great sadness the family of Gay Faith announces her passing after a short battle with cancer, on Thursday March 29, 2018, at the age of 84 years.
Gay attended Henryetta High School and Tulsa University.
She was born during the Great Depression in Borger, TX on February 8, 1934. Her parents followed the oil field industry with Phillips Petroleum for several years settling back in Tulsa, Miami and later Henryetta where she graduated in 1952.
Gay met her Husband Harold Faith after graduation in Tulsa. They were married on April 2, 1953 at Nogales Ave. Baptist church where her husband was a Deacon.
During their married life Gay and Harold were very active in multiple churches in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and McAlester. Gay led youth and children's activities, vacation Bible school, women's ministries and her Sunday School. During her membership at Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa she organized the Women's Sewing Ministry that provided handmade articles distributed by missionaries world-wide. At the time of her death she was a member of South Tulsa Baptist Church and belonged to Ruth's Open-Door Sunday School Class.
Though much of her married life was as a homemaker she worked for various medical and dental practices after her husband's death in 1979.
She is survived by her son Kent Faith (Lisa) of Tulsa, 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Gay was preceded in death by her husband Harold Faith and two sons Tommy L. Faith and Brent L. Faith.
A celebration of Gay's life will be held at 11 am, on Wednesday April 4th, at South Tulsa Baptist Church, (Chapel), 10310 So. Sheridan Road, Tulsa, OK 74133, with Pastor Bill Hulse officiating.
Everyone is invited to visitation with the family from 6-8 pm, Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St. Tulsa, OK 74145.
