Obituary

Garland Steve Sivers passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on March 16, 2014. He was born in Tulsa on August 24, 1932 and remained a life-long resident. Garland graduated from Central High School, served as counselor at local summer camps and played church softball with Nogales Avenue Baptist Church. He coached wrestling for Owen Recreation Center and Whiteside as well as being involved in the Tulsa Archery Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing as favorite hobbies. Garland worked as a stationary engineer throughout Tulsa and retired from Pennwell Publishing Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents, E.M. Jack and Mattie Sivers and sister Gloria (Jackie) Brown. Garland is survived by: his daughters, Kathi Traylor of Tulsa, DeAnn Phillips and husband Jerry of Sand Springs, Jana Hatfield and husband John of Tulsa and Julie Kramer of Tulsa; sisters Margaret Keith of Broken Arrow, Gwen Wyatt and husband Jim of Tulsa, and Melba Nantz and husband Ikey of Owasso: 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at Moore's Eastlawn, Thursday March 20, from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at Moore's Eastlawn, Friday March 21, at 2 p.m., followed by a graveside .
