Garry L Massey, born August 27, 1960, went home to build his mansion close to Jesus's throne, October 25th, 2022. Garry grew up in Kansas City, MO and lived most of his life in California and Oklahoma. He was loved and cherished by many, and always brought a smile to whomever crossed his path. He enjoyed baseball with all five of his children, cooking delicious meals and sharing them with his family and close friends. He loved being able to camp and sit around a campfire. Growing up he was a part of his family gospel singing group and later in life he started it back up with his siblings as an adult. Garry loved nothing more than family and made sure they always had the love and support that they needed.
Garry was preceded in death by father, Jimmie Massey; mother, Billie Massey; and brother, Bruce Massey. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Massey; and five kids: Joshua of Okmulgee, Joseph and wife Tammy of Okmulgee, Katy and wife Jessica of Okmulgee, Amanda and partner Gary Phillips of Bixby, and Ricky of Okmulgee. His sister, Cindy Johnson of Tulsa; brother, Charles and wife Michiko Massey of Mira Mesa, CA; and sister Liann and husband Rick Alfaro of Broken Arrow, alongside many nieces and nephews.
Garry will always be remembered for his smile, kindness, generosity, killer baseball coaching skills, and of course his silliness. Garry loved big and asked that everyone celebrate his life, and not get lost in the grief.
