Gary Dale Evans of Tulsa, Oklahoma died on Saturday, July 20th, 2024. He is survived by his two daughters, Laurie Evans-Flinn and Lindsey Nicole Evans, his sisters: Fonda Ryan (Tommy Giles) and Donna Woods (husband Jody Woods), nieces Hayley Garrison , Darla Sullivan , Lynn Kucherepa, and nephews , Monty Sullivan, Greg Sullivan, and Dustin Woods. his best friend, Gordon Hampton, and several more friends and family members. Gary was born to mother Thelma Edith Evans and father Vaden Thomas Evans on May 02, 1945 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tulsa Central high school in 1963 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and went on to study at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He spent many years in Tahlequah and Peggs, Oklahoma, where he spent many of his childhood years playing in Spring Creek and the Illinois River. He also lived in Des Moines, Iowa, and Kansas City, Kansas, finally deciding to settle in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gary spent 35 years working in the IT department for Amoco Corporation, and retired early at age 55. Gary loved Oklahoma Sooner softball and football. He enjoyed helping coach Lindsey's softball teams for over fifteen years, and in all that time did not ever miss a game or practice. He helped Laurie learn how to run track and play basketball. His devotion to not only his daughters, but also their sports clubs, was one of his favorite past-times. He also loved to not only purchase cars, but work on them. Gary also thoroughly enjoyed spending his free time raising money with the Concerned Oklahomans for the Highway Patrol, putting on an annual golf tournament to raise money and an annual "Kids' Day Out," which focused on helping underprivileged youth from rural Oklahoma schools. He also enjoyed fishing and any other activity on Lake Tenkiller.

Gary's visitation will be Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at Moore Funeral home Southlawn Chapel at 9350 E. 51st St. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. His memorial service will take place Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at 11:00am also at the Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel. The graveside service to follow in Peggs, Oklahoma at New Home Cemetery.
