Gary Lee Sayne, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026. He was born on October 30, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John Lee and Geraldine Rae (nee Raul) Sayne.
Gary was a Master Electrician and a proud member of the IBEW Local 212 in Cincinnati, where his career and passion inspired multiple family members to follow in his footsteps as electricians. An avid adventurer and athlete, Gary was a Honda motorcycle enthusiast, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor, a marathon runner, and an active member of the YMCA Pacemakers running club. He challenged himself by competing in the Ironman and the U.S. Canoe Association Triathlons. He was also a member of the Professional Archery Association and the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, competing frequently in archery and muzzleloader events. In his downtime, he loved traveling and camping with his brother, John.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldine; his brothers, Terry Ray Sayne, Gregory Keith Sayne, and Guy Kim Sayne; and his sister, Bonny Lynn (nee Sayne) Phebus.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Sheila Sayne; his children, Dawn Sayne Wilke (Edwin) of Harrison, OH, Penelope Sayne Hoage (David) of Aquilla, TX, Jeffrey Kreft of Whitesboro, NY, and John Kreft of Portland, OR; his grandchildren, Ethan Sayne of Las Vegas NV, Edana Maeve Huskey (Austin), Maximilian Wilke, and his great-grandchild, Arthur Huskey, all of Cincinnati, OH. He is also survived by his brother, John Sayne (Betty) of Moore's Hill, IN, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will miss him greatly.
