Mrs. Gearthel K. Geiger passed away Thursday morning, July 14, 1977, in Tulsa, OK. She was 87. Mrs. Gearthel was born in Ohio on Friday, February 7, 1890, to William Garretson and Glendara (Cooper) Garretson. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Edward "E. H." Geiger, Sr.; a daughter, Ellen; and sons, E. H. Geiger, Jr. and Wayne Geiger. She is survived by 9 children -- 6 daughters, Henryetta Norris, Amelia Hipp, Gearthel McKenzie, Clara Lauderback, Carmen McPherson, and Betty Cates; 3 sons, Lloyd, Floyd and David Geiger; 42 loving grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Geiger were married in Polk, Pennyslvania in 1906. They came to Tulsa from Florida in 1916. Mr. Geiger worked for the county treasurer for 18 years.
