Gene retired in 1992 from AA after 25 years of service. A stroke in 1996 left him partially disabled, but went on to live 28 happy, productive years, after the fact. He took much pride in his daughters and their accomplishments. Sports became an enjoyable part of all our lives. Gene was a long-time member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Tulsa. Gene had one sibling, Gerald M. Duenow, who passed away in 2006. Gene had many excellent character traits that made him an excellent man. Anyone who knew Gene knew what a hard worker he was for his family. He truly put others before himself and treated each day of his life as a gift from God. He knew his Savior, Jesus Christ, and was in regular communique with Him. You would also know that Gene loved watching his Iowa Hawkeyes, tinkering in the garage or shed, and watching Fox News.
