Gene "E. C." Glander, 88, of Tulsa, passed away Nov. 25, 2017 in Tulsa. He was born Jan. 25, 1929 in Slick, OK to Clarence Eugene and Nannie Mae Phillips Glander. He married the former Patti Rose and she preceded him in death in 2001 and then married the former Betty Jean Bourland-Wagner and she preceded him in 2016. He was a retired Planner for American Airlines.
Mr. Glander was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where he had previously helped with their Meals on Wheels Program, the youth program, served as an usher and a member of the choir. He also was an avid bowler and square dancer. A veteran of the U. S. Army, the served in Berlin during the Allies Occupation after the WW II.
In addition to his parents and 2 wives, Mr. Glander was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters: Twila Rowland, Howard Glander, Bertha Yackman, Fred Glander and Ladon Glander. He is survived by 2 sons: Robert E. (Cynthia) Glander of Sallisaw and Larry M. (Fritzie) Glander of Broken Arrow; 4 grandsons: Robert Fox Glander, Kyle Joseph Glander, Jack Landrum Glander, and Matthew Scott Glander; a granddaughter, Sonya Michelle Glander; a sister in law, Maxine Glander; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 29th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa, OK with funeral services on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
