Gene Harris Payne was born on December 5, 1930 in Drumright, OK. He went to be with the Lord March 26, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Alta Mae Payne and his first wife Bobbie Jo Payne; his brothers, William Payne and Ronald Payne. SFC Gene Payne served in the Army from 1947 - 1951; 1982 - 1985 and in the Navy from 1956 - 1962. Beyond his military service, he served with the Tulsa Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of Will Rogers United Methodist Church. Gene is survived by: his wife, Barbara of 21 years of the home; brother, Donald Payne of Roseville, CA; daughters, Cynthia and Doug (spouse) Holly of Phoenix, AZ, Robin Kimbrell of Tulsa, OK, and Martha Payne of Tulsa, OK; son, David and Gina (spouse) Payne of Norman, OK; Barbara's children David and Kathy (spouse) Geddie of Ft. Thomas, KY, John and Michelle (Spouse) Geddie of Sand Springs, OK and Paul and Katrina (spouse) Geddie of Saugus, CA:; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family will receive friends 5:30-7:30pm, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa. Interment Service with full military honors will be 11am, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm at Moore's Southlawn Chapel.
