George F. Harrington Jr.


George Frederick Harrington, Jr., passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the age of 74.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George Har­rington and Naomi (Brown) Harrington, and broth­er-in-law Stephen Burrus.
He leaves behind his wife of 41 years Jana Harrington; son Seth Harrington and his wife, Rachel, of Lexington, Massachusetts; son John Harrington and his wife, Elizabeth, of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Foster, Graham, and Mason; sister-in-law Marcia Burrus and her partner, Mariellen Montgomery, of Tulsa; and sister Elizabeth "Ibby" Merritt of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and her children, Kevin Merritt, Sarah Mag­ner, Christopher Merritt, and Laura Merritt.
George was born and raised in Tulsa and attended Cascia Hall and Northeastern State University. He worked at Hilti, Inc. as a warehouse ship­ping supervisor for over twenty years before retiring in 2003. In retirement, he volunteered for the Regional AIDS Intercommu­nity Network (RAIN) assisting in­dividuals with HIV/AIDS, and for Saint Simeon's Episcopal Home, including service as President of the Saint Simeon's Auxiliary.
George is remembered fondly by all who met him for his outgo­ing personality and colorful sense of humor. No one was a stranger to George for long.
Services will be held Thursday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145.
