George Edmund Leigh, 55, of Ozark died early Friday, October 8, 1976, of a heart attack at St. Francis hospital, Tulsa, where he had undergone surgery on Monday.
Born March 24, 1922, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Sydney Ward Leigh and Margaret (Swann) Leigh, he had been a resident of Ozark for about three years. Prior to moving here from Oklahoma, he was a supervisor for Carnation Milk Company in Tulsa for many years and was later a wine broker with R.E. Madison.
Mr. Leigh was a member of the Lions and Elks Clubs and was active in the Ozark Band and Athletic Booster Clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Parsons Leigh; two sons, Doug of the home and Stewart of Houston; two daughters, Heather of the home and Mrs. Barbara Leding of Ozark; one foster daughter, Gloria Bowers of Crockett, Tex.; one sister, Kathleen Brooks of Winnepeg, Manitoba; four grandchildren; and one foster grandchild.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 11, 1976, at Moore Funeral
Home in Tulsa. Father Charles E. Wilcox, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park.
A memorial rosary service was held at 8:15 p.m., Saturday, Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel, Ozark, AR. Father Lawrence Miller, officiated.
