George William Niceley, departed from this life and entered Heaven's gates in the early morning hours of April 19th, 2018.
George was born to Glen Niceley and Evelyn Todd on February 9, 1924 in Miami, OK, where he lived until he graduated high school and joined the Army Air Corp. George was a decorated veteran, serving his country proudly in Europe during WWII.
Once the war was over, George married his sweetheart, Mary Jane Ballard on May 24, 1946. They resided in Tulsa, OK where they raised their three sons, Bill, Tommy, and Georgie. George retired from Meadow Gold as a transportation manager and enjoyed his retirement years with his family in Tulsa.
George was preceded in death by his wife, "Jane", his middle son, Thomas, his youngest son, George Jr., his daughter in law, Carolyn Niceley, and his granddaughter, Mary Nicole Farrell. He is survived by his oldest son, Bill Sr., two daughters in law, Karen Niceley, of Broken Arrow, and Carol Niceley, of Broken Arrow, his grandson, Bill Jr. and wife, Ashley of Tulsa, his granddaughter, Lisa Johnson and husband, Cedric of Tulsa, his grandson, Jeff and wife Andi of Broken Arrow, his granddaughter Brooke Thompson and husband, Matt of Broken Arrow, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
The family would also like to thank the staff of St. Francis Hospice and Inverness Home Health for providing comfort care during George's final days.
Funeral services will be held at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK at 2:00 p.m..
