George David Riddle
George was born September 3, 1924 in Dearborn, MO to Bernard and Bertha Riddle. He attended high school in Faucett, MO. After graduation, he joined the Army for three years, serving two years as a member of the Army of Occupation in Japan. Upon his discharge from military service, he worked in the electronics field, performing television repair for Trans World Airlines and as a Radio Station Engineer in Joplin, MO. He began a career with Frisco Railroad in 1951 where he performed a multitude of responsibilities in several different states until his retirement. After retirement, he found new challenges, working for a satellite communications company and later for a private railroad signal company. George was a hard-working, friendly, honest man who always saw the good in people. He firmly believed in the Grace and Goodness of God and volunteered for many positions in the church. He loved the Lord and
was a faithful servant and leader at Yale Avenue Christian Church for over forty years. One of George's great joys was his involvement with youth through both scouting and church activities. He loved to travel and had visited every state in the continental United States. In later life, some of his most cherished times were when he and his wife, Nellie were a part of the Double Ring square dance club. They enjoyed the travel and camaraderie of the group for years. But most of all, he treasured time with his family.
George is survived by three sons, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister.
