Obituary

George Van Wyck went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2013. George was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 6, 1934. He brought his family to the Tulsa area in 1976. With a love of Quarter Horses they brought about 20 mares and a World Champion producing stallion. They stood many stallions to the public and enjoyed raising many World Champions.

Life went on, as it does, and the family opened Steak Stuffers in 1988 first in Brookside, then on Rt. 44 and Lewis Ave. With road construction they moved the restaurant to 51st and Memorial Ave., the present location. George loved to meet people and so his position on the cash register suited him just right. He loved to talk politics with anyone willing to listen.

Hunting was another thing he loved. Last year he shot his largest white tail buck, 202 inches. He was fortunate to fish several years with Capt. Frank Mundis in Long Island. Mundis was responsible for the movie "Jaws".

George was a patriot and a loving family man. caring for everyone around him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara "Bee", his son Garth and his grandchildren Garrett, Gaylan, Gavin and Alexia. George was greatly loved and he will be missed greatly. He leaves us with a world of giving and happy memories. Donations in George?s name can be sent to John 3:16 Mission. Moore?s Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
