Obituary

Georgia Winifred Gammache, formally Hampton and Keyes, lovingly known as "Winnie," passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. She was born on January 11, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, to George Morrow and Vera Langley.

Georgia's life was rooted in faith, family, service, and dedication to others. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage, which she honored through her strong sense of family, generosity, and deep respect for caring for others. She enjoyed traveling, playing games, and spending time visiting with friends and family. A gifted singer, Georgia shared her voice generously at church, using music as an expression of her faith and joy. Georgia also devoted many years of her professional life as an Office Manager for Search for Truth, where her organization, care, and commitment reflected the values she lived by.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Randy and Ricky Hampton; her husbands, Rev. Leroy Mitchel Hampton, with whom she pastored Abundant Life Church, and Rev. Mervyn Keyes, alongside whom she shared a life of evangelism; and her siblings, James and Betty Frailey.

Georgia and Rev. Leroy Mitchel Hampton devoted many years of their lives to serving others. While living in Houston, Texas, for nearly 20 years, they opened their home and hearts as foster parents to 34 infants through DePelchin Children's Center. They later relocated to Arizona in 1984, where they founded and led the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) known as Chandler Christian Center in Chandler, Arizona, serving faithfully from 1984 to 2000.

In addition to pastoring, Georgia and Leroy served as summer UPC youth camp counselors, where many of the children they cared for affectionately referred to them as "Grandma" and "Grandpa." The church later relocated to Gilbert, Arizona, and is now known as Life Church, where a legacy tree stands in honor of Georgia and Leroy and the lasting impact of their ministry. Their shared commitment to faith, service, and caring for others was a defining part of Georgia's life and legacy.

She continued this devotion to service in her later years alongside her newlywed husband, Richard Gammache III, as Ministering Volunteers at Seasons Hospice, regularly visiting patients at the VA hospital in Claremore, OK, offering kindness, companionship, and comfort.

Georgia is survived by her husband, Richard Gammache III; her daughter, Rhonda Lyman; her granddaughters, Amanda Lyman and Veronica Winters; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Penelope and Maverick, all of Jenks, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind Richard's six children, whom she lovingly welcomed into her heart and family.

Georgia will be remembered for her generous heart, her beautiful voice, and a life spent faithfully serving others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
