GEORGIA LEE "HENRY' EATON
Georgia Lee Eaton, 95, passed away peacefully Friday, February 9, 2018, in her Tulsa home of 67 years. Born July 13, 1922 in Okmulgee to James Richard Henry and Lula Mae Henry.
Georgia graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1940, after previously completing two years at
Webster High School. Georgia then worked for the Tulsa World and later for W.C. McBride Oil Company. In February of 1944, she married Darwin Gragg Eaton, Jr. of Tulsa beginning a 67-year love affair honoring of their Christian faith.
Georgia was a housewife, loving wife and mother, and will forever be known for her love of God, her kindness to all that knew her, and her service and generosity to numerous church related and non-profit organizations. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, while always making everyone feel so welcome in her humble home.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, James Richard and Lula Mae Henry, her husband, Darwin Gragg Jr, and her three brothers, Fritz H. Henry, James H. Henry, and Bob W. Henry. She is survived by sons, Darwin G. "Chief" III and wife, Peggy of Sapulpa and James H. Eaton and wife, Sheri of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Mary Lynn Whitsett and husband, Eddie; and niece Linda Hane, all of Tulsa; grandchildren Robyn Anderson and husband, Jim of San Antonio, TX, Tiffani Revis of Tulsa, Dari Nowkhah and wife, Jenn of Waxhaw, NC, Layla Jirka and husband, Pete of Tulsa, Brittany Eaton, Christopher Eaton and Sydney Eaton, all of Long Beach, CA, William Burke and wife, Shelley, J.J. Mangum, all of Sapulpa, Brooke Carter and husband, Jeff, of Jenks, and Jesse Whitsett and wife, Monika, of Argyle, TX; and 17 beautiful great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Moore's Southlawn. Service will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Spirit Life Church.
