Gerald Lynn (Jerry) Carrington passed away at the age of 87 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 15, 2024. Jerry was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on October 4, 1936 to George Leo Carrington and Maggie Dalene Pradmore. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean Davis Salyers, and step-daughter, Brenda Salyers Williams.
Jerry was a proud 1958 graduate of Oklahoma A & M with a degree in Design and Architecture. He moved to Tulsa to begin his career in furniture retail. He later set up his own interior design firm, GLC, Inc. He began his own specialized rattan and bamboo furniture manufacturing and retail business, Mai Thai furniture and Manufacturing Co. where he designed the furniture and had his designs manufactured in Thailand. His interior design customers held him in high esteem and would often call him to hang pictures in the best possible location.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Melea Carrington (husband Andy Fite), Alicia Carrington Sorelle (husband Bob), step-daughter Jennifer Bartlett (husband Bernie), grandchildren Sarah Carrington-Yuan (husband Brian), Dr. Jessica Koshy (husband Gershon), Josie Sorelle, Brittany Enzbrenner, Zach Rogers (wife Katy), Matthew Bartlett, Ashley Fuss (husband Trey), Justin Williams (wife Stacy), and Brandon Williams (wife Jill), as well as numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Jerry will be remembered and cherished for his capacity to love people His love of photography and loud music, especially rock and the blues. The Christmas Eve parties he and Jean hosted for many years where the welcome and love were abundant were legendary.
