Gerald Richard Haywood, 84, of Broken Arrow, passed away on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021. Born September 18th, 1936, he was the son of John Theodore Haywood and Mabel Johanna Tyler. He grew up in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Classen High School class of 1954. He attended several universities: Oklahoma City University, followed by the University of Central Oklahoma where he earned a BA in Geography and a minor in Geology. He attended Arizona State University and received a BS in Geography and Cartography and did additional graduate work. He spent his life as a geodetic scientist/cartographer. Gerald was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he worshipped for many decades. He loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Dunlavey; and five sons: Rick of Dallas, Texas; Chris (Anita) of Yelm, Washington; Chet (Elisa) of San Antonio, Texas; Paul (Jennifer) of Clearfield, Utah; and Matthew (Jeanette) of Libertyville, Illinois; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Gerald will be very missed. Our loss is Heaven's gain. The funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at 1 pm, Monday, January 18th, 2021.
