Gerald R. Wade, 78, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Claremore Veterans Center, Claremore, Oklahoma. Gerald was born September 16, 1946 in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Milstred and Catherine Wade.

Gerald graduated from Hominy High School, class of 1964. He graduated from Northern Oklahoma Junior College, Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and from The University of Tulsa with a Bachelors in Business in 1972. He was drafted in 1967 into the Army serving in Vietnam during which time he earned the rank of Sergeant and was awarded The Bronze Star for his heroic combat service.

In July of 1969, Gerald married Donna Jenkins who he met while attending Tulsa University. In 1975 they welcomed a son, Nathan G. Wade. Gerald and Donna celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary July 18, 2025.

Gerald was a pick up and delivery man for thirty years for local trucking companies. After retiring, he worked for Gleam Guard for several years.

Through the years Gerald was a part time music minister at several Baptist churches.

Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He and Donna loved attending TU games and watching football and basketball on TV.

In later years Gerald was an active member of Tulsa Baptist Temple where he became burdened for missions and served on the missions committee carrying that forward when the church became New Heights Baptist Church Tulsa. His life was a testament to his belief in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Donna, son Nathan and grandson Sam, both of Hewitt, Texas, and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Edward and Kimsey, and sisters, Charlotte and Marcia.
