Geraldine "Jerry" Chloe Guthrie Johnson died September 3,2014. She was born July 17, 1921, grew up in the Nowata area, and graduated from Nowata High School. In her early twenties, she lived and worked in Tulsa, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles. She married Richard "Dick" Johnson in 1947, and they raised their sons Craig and Jeff in Tulsa.
Jerry lived a full and productive life for 93 years. Her passion was her family. She was married to Dick for 64 years, until his death in 2011. She loved all things having to do with her sons and grandchildren.
Her second passion was her volunteer work for Saint Francis Hospital. She worked for over 25 years with the hospital and enjoyed every minute of it.
Jerry will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She was strong, yet tender-hearted; she loved to dance and laugh; and she always had a sympathetic ear for friends and loved ones.
Survivors include son Craig Johnson and wife Patti, son Jeff Johnson and wife Jo, grandchildren Laura and Ben, cousins Gwen Robinson, Rudy Binkley, and Tom Binkley, and other beloved family members.
