Geraldine Jordan, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, affectionately known as MiMi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Gerry to others, passed from this life into her eternal home on Friday, November 10, 2023. Gerry was born to Arthur Lee and Fannie Perkins on April 8, 1932 in Callisburg, Texas. She attended grade school in Callisburg and graduated high school from Gainesville, Texas. She attended Gainesville Junior College after high school. She moved with her two sons, Dale and Terry, and her then husband and father to her boys, Julius Yates to Tulsa in 1962 where she raised her family and lived the rest of her life. Gerry and Julius divorced and she soon met and married the love of her life, Ray "Blue" Jordan. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jenson Mixers, a company that makes petroleum products for a number of years before working for Rhoades Oil Company for 19 years where she retired in 1997. She was a member of Yale Ave. Presbyterian Church. She served her community for many years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Gerry was exceptional at crocheting and had many other creative talents. She was an incredibly talented musician known especially for her organ and piano playing. She was a member of a bowling league, and loved all sorts of games. She was very giving, had a fun-loving spirit and great sense of wit and humor. In her later years, she loved watching the Texas Rangers baseball games on TV and rarely missed a game.
She is proceeded in death by her mother, Fannie Perkins, her father, Arthur Perkins, her husband, Ray Jordan, her son, Dale Yates, her brother, Marvin Perkins, her son, Terry Yates, her sister-in-law, Nadyne Perkins and her step-daughter, Jana Britton. She is survived and deeply loved and missed by her daughter-in-law, Pam Yates of Bixby, daughter-in-law, Wynona Yates of Broken Arrow, grandson, Peter Hart of Sapulpa, granddaughter, Brittany Slaton and husband Travis of Hulbert, grandson Jeffrey Yates and wife Kim of Bixby, granddaughter, Lindsay Yates of New Braunfels, Texas, granddaughter, Morgan Yates of Broken Arrow, 7 great grandchildren - Taylor Hart, Quinton Hart, Emma Yates, Cedar Slaton, Carson Yates, Paisley Yates, and Maxie Slaton.
