Jerri (Rowland) Martin of Tulsa OK was born July 20,1938 in Muskogee, OK to Gholson and Ada (Toole) Rowland. She was raised by her mother and granny with her younger sister Ann, in McAlester, OK. She attended all 12 years of school at Savanna, OK, where her mother was an elementary teacher. She graduated in 1956 with her original class of 12 boys and 12 girls. She then attended Business School in Oklahoma City.

She contracted Polio at about age 2, and at age 12 spent 1 year in Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport, LA. While efforts were made to improve her condition, the doctors cut the tendons behind her knees, which left her with life-long crippling condition, hence leaving her wheelchair bound for over 20 years of her life.

Jerri married Ronald (Ronny) Martin on Feb. 17, 1957, and they were married for 55 years until Ronny's passing. Ronny was a Mechanical Engineer at McDonnell Douglas and Rockwell International, and then retired from Boeing as a Heat Transfer Systems Analyst.

Jerri and Ronny were blessed with a daughter, Ronna Ann (Martin) Robins, born Oct. 29, 1958. Jerri was a homemaker and stayed at home to raise Ronna until she went off to college. Jerri then went to work at Bergen Brunswig Pharmaceutical Co. as a receptionist for 13 years.

Jerri was a member of the Choctaw Nation and very proud of her Choctaw heritage. She was a regular member of Christ Fellowship Church.

Jerri's favorite things to do were shopping, eating out, going to the movies, and spending time with friends and family. She had many special friends, and was especially close to her sister, Ann. Jerri loved to go to the ocean, and she loved to sit outside and soak up the sunshine.

So that Jerri could stay at home in the last few years of her life, she received special care from her daughter Ronna, and caregivers Tiffany, LaDonna, Jane, Brenda, and Carmen who became like part of her family.

She was survived by her daughter, Ronna Robins and David Wasson of Tulsa; her sister, Ann and brother-in-law, Steve Spears of Tulsa; brother-in-law, Tom Evans of Tulsa; nieces, Christy and Dean Edwards of McAlester, Dianne Wopart of Tulsa, and Tonya and Nate Davis of Kansas; nephew, Jerry Phipps of Tulsa; aunt, Betty Harr of CA, and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronny, and her sister-in-law, Mary Evans of Tulsa.
