Gerene Kay Adwon was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on July 28th, 2024 at the age of 78.
She was born to Kenneth and Doris Burns on August 13, 1945 in El Dorado, Arkansas where she grew up in a loving home with her three siblings Mike Burns, Charlie Burns and Trisha (Jones). After high school, she attended Louisiana Tech University and later moved to Tulsa where she met her husband of 41 years, Adam Adwon. They have one daughter, Andrea Graham, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Lila who called her "Annie".

A long-time member of St. John's Episcopal Church, she served on the Altar Guild for many years and their Prayer Quilt ministry. You could often find her sewing or napping covered in one of her beautiful quilts.
A true animal lover, Gerene rescued many stray cats. Their home was filled with a beloved rotation of birds, dogs and cats. She kept the wonderful people of Edgewood Veterinary Hospital very busy! She also loved flowers in her garden, attending water aerobics at the YMCA, time and travel with family, and long drives in the country with Adam.
She is survived by many additional family members, sisters in-law Pam and Ellen Burns, brother in-law Phelps Jones, nephew Baye Jones, son-in-law Jay Graham,in-laws Mitchell and Melinda Adwon, nephew Mitchell Adwon and niece Amanda Adwon. Plus wonderful spouses and six great nieces and nephews.
