Obituary

Glenn Allen Wright, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 11th
2016 at the end of a long and difficult disease. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma
September 10, 1937. Proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Brooksey
Wright and his sister Patricia Wright Gillum Forgus. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Wright; daughters, Elizabeth A. Wright and Tracey Wright-Owen; grandchildren, Brooklyn A. Wright and Piper W. Owen, his "older" brother Lloyd Wright and sister-in-law Debbie Peter Wright, many nieces and nephews.

Glenn attended Lee Elementary, Horace Man Jr High, and OMA, graduating from Tulsa Central High in 1955. He earned his BBA in 1961 at Harden Simmons in Abilene, TX where he began his career as a land man for Sun Oil.

He entered sales with Frank Wheatley Industries as Vice President of West Coast
Operations returning to Tulsa in late 60's. In 1976 Glenn purchased and was President of Major Controls building a successful company with his famous 'Major Credit Card' and the help of wonderful employees who became lifelong friends. Upon his short-lived retirement Glenn pursued his love of aviation, moving from passionate volunteer to Founding President and then Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum in 2010. The Museum was draped with his enthusiasm, from the F-14 Tomcat he successfully managed to have donated from the Navy to his own World War Il Navy Bell Helicopter that hangs today over the entrance to the museum. He served in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserve during the Korean War period.

Always engaged with the community Glenn was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Shriners, the Royal Order of Jesters, the Downtown Rotary, Southern Hills Country Club and his all-time favorite, the Tulsa Club Running Club, the St. John Swim Club, Tulsa Zoo Friends and the Rotary Club of Crested Butte, Co.

Wherever Glenn went, he loved to meet people and to learn about their lives. He was a story guy -- he enjoyed hearing them and telling them. He considered his family and friends the many blessings in his life. He loved Tulsa and the leisure time he spent in Crested Butte with friends there.

Family suggests contributions be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Shrine Hospital, or Miller Hospice.
