Gloria Suzanne "Sam" Easton, 67, passed away Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born July 29th, 1950 to Delmer Leroy and Wanda Lou (Bland) Green in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was known mostly by her nicknames "Sam" or "Suzie."
Sam was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School ('68) in Tulsa, OK. She worked for 17 years in the grocery business before returning to school and graduating from both Tulsa Community College ('95) and the Mayo Clinic School of Health-Related Sciences ('96). She successfully passed the national registry both as a Radiologic Technologist RT(R) and a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). Sam retired in 2016 from Hillcrest Medical Center.
A member of Church on the Move, Sam enjoyed volunteering with The Christmas Train. She also took great pleasure in spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Vikki. She is survived by her son, Jon Gregory Denney and his wife Sharon; daughter, Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Easton; sister Carolyn Jane "Janie" Green; grandson, Stephen Timothy Denney; granddaughter, Rachel Suzanne Denney; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The service will be 12pm, Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 11am -12pm at Moore's Southlawn Chapel before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa.
