Dr. Gordon Wayne McCraw of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on May 21st 2014. Born October 1st 1953 in Abilene, Texas to Bob and Jacquetta McCraw, Gordon was an honors graduate from Thomas Edison High School in 1971. Following high school, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University where he served as a member of the Student Senate and drafted the legislation to found the Student Health Center. In 1975, he was graduated with honors with a degree in Microbiology from Oklahoma State University. Afterwards, he matriculated at the Oklahoma University College of Medicine. Graduating in 1979, Gordon moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas where he raised his family and completed his residency in Family Medicine. Gordon went on to practice medicine in Booneville, Charleston, and Fort Smith for the next 24 years before his retirement. Gordon was a life-long Scouter, participating as a youth and adult. He loved Corvettes and Lincolns, the art of cooking, science fiction, fancy pens, and Apple computers.
Gordon is survived by his 3 sons; Jeremy and wife Malaya, Michael and wife Jennifer and Christopher. He is also survived by his mother Jacquetta, sister Teresa, and brother Kevin. He will also live on through his 7 grandchildren. Finally, he will be fondly remembered by all of the patients to whom he devoted his life.
