Grace Elizabeth Alexander Poston was born December 18, 1921 in Greenville SC and passed away January 26, 2017 in Tulsa OK. Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Gigi, she is survived by daughters, Pam Bedenbaugh and Barbara Howell, son-in-law Jim Bedenbaugh, Tulsa OK; granddaughters, Kelly Beckner (Wendell) of Centreville VA, Jan Martin (Richard) and Melissa Wood (Ed), Richmond VA; grandsons, Todd Emory (Faith) of Tulsa, and Chad Emory (Alice), Oklahoma City, OK; fourteen great grandchildren: Chelsea, Hannah and Olivia Beckner (Centreville), Lindsay, McKenna and Jillian Martin (Richmond), Clay, Tanner and Camden Wood (Richmond), Lydia, Elise, Graham, Sammy and Lidia Emory (Tulsa).
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Poston of Charlotte, son Ken Poston of Richmond and thirteen sisters born to Mertie and Wash Alexander.
She retired from working at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte after 25 years outstanding service and moved to Tulsa along with daughter Barbara in December, 1999.
Grace had a remarkable life filled with many loving relationships, both family and friends. She was always full of kindness, optimism, dignity, respect, humor and faith. She was gracious, giving, caring, compassionate, and loyal. She loved to sing, dance, laugh, talk and eat! She enjoyed people, animals, music, movies, crafts and gardening.
Grace will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
