Grace Elizabeth (Stephens) Raney left the confines of her earthly body and joined the angels in heaven on August 16, 2021. Grace was a Tulsa native, born in November of 1929. She attended Central High School and Oklahoma State University where she was an Alpha Chi. She met Lee Raney while in college and they married on March 15, 1953. Their marriage was a shining example to all for 68 years.
Grace was a 2nd grade teacher in Wichita, KS and in Waco, Texas. She also served as a dental hygienist, a volunteer in the church library, taught ESL to Japanese students and supported Lee's dream in helping to create the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium. Grace was proud to have completed the 8-year study of the Bible through Bible Study Fellowship. Above all, she was a loyal, trusted and loving companion to Lee, a wonderful Mother to her children and "Grandma Grace" to her 3 grandchildren.
Grace was preceded to heaven by her parents, Selma and Evelyn Stephens, her sister Betsie Turner and brother-in-law Bobby Turner. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband Lee, her daughter Elizabeth (Libbie) Raney Couper and husband Nicholas, grandchildren Catherine Couper Espinosa and husband Hector Alberto Espinosa Navarro, Caroline Nicole Couper and John Lee Couper.
The family sends its gratitude for the kind care to Dr. John Carment, Dr. Michael Spain, Zarrow Pointe Nursing Staff, Miller Hospice and special caregivers, Teresa, Stacy, Pooney and Delphine.
