Gwendolyn B. Afeld, 96, of Owasso, OK, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019. She was born on Friday, April 27, 1923, in Kinderhook, IL, to Ninian Bell and Ada (McCarl) Bell. Gwendolyn was a past member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tulsa, and current member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. She was active in Catholic Charities, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). Gwendolyn is survived by her children: son, Daniel Craig Afeld and his wife Nancy of Glenwood, AR, son, Dennis R. Afeld and his wife Barb of Springfield, IL, son, Timothy Afeld and his wife Cindy of Owasso, OK, and daughter, Debbie Emberson and her husband David of Shawnee, KS; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Afeld; and sister, Yvonne Born. Gwendolyn will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
