Helen "Irene" (Cruise) Wilson Cameron, 98, died Monday, November 30, 2015. Irene was born in a log cabin near Marshfield, Missouri, to Ether and Mary (Bowland) Cruise on March 27, 1917, and soon after moved to El Dorado, Kansas, before graduating from Seminole, Oklahoma, High School in 1935. She married John A. Wilson, the father of her children in 1940. As a "Rosie the Riveter," she worked on B-24's in San Diego during World War II. Her family then moved to Tulsa in 1948, and after her husband's death in 1961, she married Roy Cameron in 1971. Irene and Roy flew in their private plane throughout the United States, and travelled to Alaska in their Winnebago motor coach. They also spent many enjoyable days in their cabin at Grand Lake. Roy suffered a stroke in 2000 and passed away in 2004, leaving Irene a widow for the second time.

Irene suffered from macular degeneration, which left her legally blind the last 6 years of her life, but she didn't let that defeat her. She was a member of East Tulsa Christian Church for many years, and more recently a member of Highland Park Christian Church.

Irene was always a very spirited and caring person. She encouraged people with her words, both in writing and in person. She is survived by her children, Rita Miller and husband Jay, of Guam, and John Wilson and wife Phyllis, of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Brett Wilson and Mark Hall of Tulsa, and Jeff Hall of Las Vegas; and one great- granddaughter, Mary Catherine Hall, of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and two spouses.

Visitation will be 4-6 P.M., Thursday, December 3, Moore's Southlawn. A celebration of Irene's life will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015, Highland Park Christian Church, interment, Memorial Park Cemetery.
