Helen Irene Ellington, 89, of Tulsa, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born April 11th, 1926 to LoDessa and Frank Adler in Maramec, OK. She was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 32 years of service. Irene was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was a founding member of "The Bunko Bunch", playing monthly games for over 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 67 years, John Ellington. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Moreno and her husband, Mike of Plano, TX; their children, Jeff, Julie and Jennifer; Irene's son, Don Ellington and his wife, Teresa of Tulsa and their children, Kayla, Karol and Kathy; brother, Melvin Adler of Bartlesville, OK and his son Danny. The family would like to thank Irene's care givers, the staff at Canoe Brook Assisted Living Center, University Village and the nursing staff with Seasons Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
